Designs and Uses
We have two designs of slotted grilles, the 3" (75mm) high grille which can be
supplied in lengths from 6" (150mm) to 12" (305mm) and the square slotted
grilles available in sizes ranging from just 4inch (100mm) to 12 inch (305mm)
The 3" (75mm) high vent grilles are suitable for installing in
internal and external walls
and are a similar height to that of a standard house brick.
They come in a variety of lengths and can therefore be installed
along a course of bricks to suit most hole sizes. We cut these
grilles from 3ft (metre) long lengths therefore although the height will be 3"
(75mm) the finished grating lengths will vary slightly from the dimensions given
here.
The square slotted cast iron grilles can be used for either drainage, as gutters or for
ventilation. If used for vents they can be fitted externally or internally and
either built into walls
(either brick or stone) to fit flush with the wall surface and secured in place
with mortar or plaster. We can also drill them so they can be screwed to the
wall to fit over a hole or for added security were the grille is mounted flush
with the brickwork.
We do sell a lot of these square grilles to go over round ducting holes used as outlets
for various extractors from the kitchen, bathroom and even industrial areas. We

The 3" high slotted grilles are supplied undrilled.
We can drill these grilles at a cost of £10 per grille but please be aware the
width of the border is quite narrow. There is room for the hole, but the countersink
may sink below the edging.

A range of 3" (75mm) slotted grilles
Below -
3" (75mm) slotted grilles are cast using hand poured iron which is molten in
crucibles before being transferred to the pattern. Once cooled, the grating is
cleaned up or "fettled" before being cut to size in our workshop and painted.
