This 36" under front door step slotted cast iron vent grille is 3" high (75mm)
which is the height of a standard UK house brick and is supplied painted black.
Commonly found under the front door to provide ventilation under the hallway,
these grilles in many homes today are often missing or corroded beyond repair.
We supply this grille 3" high in 36" lengths but can reduce the length to your
requirements. Please see below for cost of cutting.

The border is slightly wider than the ribs, therefore we
will cut the grille from the centre of a standard item 137 to ensure the ends
are the same. After cutting your grille will be painted. As the grille will be cut in line with the ribs, it may be slightly
longer or shorter than desired and we will therefore confirm the exact length
with the customer before proceeding.
We cannot accept returns on cut grilles.

For alternative patterns for under front door step grilles it is possible to
combine many of our standard 9" x 3" cast iron air bricks and use them in a row.
If 3 air bricks are used they will produce a grille of 27" long (around 690mm)
and 4 air bricks would make up 36" (around 910mm)
Preferred designs would be air bricks with a boxed frame reverse or of heavy
construction such as the Tudor Rose, item 1 or the School Board item 32 shown below.
Cutaway reverse designs items 9, 31 or 28 are likely to be too delicate.
Of particular interest to those seeking improved ventilation is the max flow 9"
x 3" which when used in series will increase sub floor ventilation by up to 50%
compared with our standard 3" slotted grille and provide over 30,000mm2 of
air.
They can
be joined together at the back by bonding using an external grade epoxy cement
or 2 part glue or drilling and bolting the webs at the back.
