Above is a typical rotten vent
circa 1800s which can easily be replaced utilizing a cast iron airbrick like the
ones below.

Most of our cast iron air bricks should be
suitable for listed properties (subject to conservation approval) and should be ideal modern replacements
for defective and missing
grills in restoring many other Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian properties.
Period Property Extensions
- Extensions to Georgian,
Victorian and Edwardian properties deserve sympathetic care and treatment so
your extension works in harmony with the existing building.
Your building control will insist
you meet modern ventilation requirements and may expect vent fans in kitchens,
cloak rooms and bathrooms. The conservation department will be more concerned
with how it looks - the cast iron reproduction vents should appease both
parties.

product web pages to see full specifications and product free air vent flows.
New Builds
These cast vents are ideal for
outside walls for Hob Extractors, tumble dryers, kitchen and bathroom fan
outlets (9" x 6") and under floor ventilation (9" x 3") if there is wooden
suspended flooring.
Heavy Duty Range
The heavy duty 9" x 3" Cast Iron vents weigh nearly 2KG and the 9"
x 6" weigh 3.25KG (the 9"x9" even more!) and are up to 1/2 inch thick in places and therefore should
last several lifetimes. They are very strong and fit in place of the brick(s)
but all that metal comes with a price as they have a much lower free air flow
rate than simpler designs.
Schoolboard and Vertical Slotted Range
Almost exact replicas of
Victorian and Edwardian utility square hole air bricks and slotted grilles, these ranges
are relatively lightweight but have excellent flow rates for
good ventilation.

Max Flow
This cast iron air brick is based on the traditional "schoolboard"
pattern and is specifically used in situations that need high air flow from a 9"
x 3" and 9"
x 6" hole.
Of medium weight construction, this air brick is thicker than the "schoolboard"
type to allow for the larger holes.

Replacing Plastic Grills
- The appearance of dryer vent
outlets, hob extractor and kitchen and bathroom fan outlets can all be improved
using cast vents over the ducting outlet. For cast iron air bricks to sit flush
within the brick work some work will be required to the brickwork and the
ducting may need shortening slightly.
Our louvre vents are particularly suited as extractor outlets or in
areas were prevailing winds are a problem.
Our square slotted grilles and
plates screw into brickwork to fit over the extractor hole on outside walls and
are therefore easy to fit.
