Description
The periscope ducting works great with single size air bricks, but it doesnt take full advantage of the free area of the periscope duct! This is because a single air brick doesn’t have enough free area, because its too small.
If you want to use a periscope duct and achieve 100% of the free area of the periscope duct (8610mm2) then you’ll need this adapter and any of the following 9×6 inch air bricks…
- GRID6 grid pattern 9×6 inch air brick
- MAX6 Max Flow 9×6 air brick
- Y6 Y Pattern 9×6 inch air brick
- VV6 Vertical slotted 9×6 inch Air Brick
- Hit and Miss 9×6 inch Air Brick
The following air bricks only achieve 98% of the free area of the periscope duct (8500mm2) …
- FLY6 flyscreen 9×6 air brick complete with fly mesh
- L6 louvre 9×6 air brick
Customers might also want to use this adapter if they have pre exsiting “double brick sized” openings or air bricks already in place and want to install a periscope. This is especially common where ground levels have been raised over the years and property owners now find the outside ventilation doesnt line up with the interior sub floor height.
Important note.
The free area, regardless of which 9×6 cast iron air brick is used is limited by the internal dimensions of the periscope duct at its narrowest point (42 mm x 205mm) which gives 8610mm2.
Adapter to allow double brick size 9×6 inch air brick to fit single brick size periscope ( must be used with METIMP6 adapter for all 9×6 air bricks)

The adapter cannot be used with metric air brick WIN6 windsor and is not recommended for use with the MAX6 (GRID6 is a cheaper alternative and acheives the same free area when using the periscope) .
