Westminster Vents
Elegant Victorian church design , highly recommended for architects and interior designers and especially suited for period property interiors.
The grille can be used externally either screwed over a hole (drilled) or mortared in a rebate or within a hole void (undrilled) .
This stunning grille is 10mm thick and 108mm high and available in three lengths, 108mm, 152mm or 295mmlong. it’s available in a choice of finishes, either painted black or bare metal (see note below ref lacquering) and either drilled in the corners for securing or undrilled.
The Westminster vent can be used with or without copper mesh to keep out bugs and rodents. The larger sized 12×4 item WEST124 can also be used as an interior vent in conjunction with cavity wall sleeve with a metric Windsor airbrick on the outside of the property.
Bare metal finish is ideal for customers to apply their own paint finish or lacquers in their own colours or to allow a rust finish to develop. If you like the bare finish and don’t want it to rust we are able to supply the grilles lacquered (same price as painted black) .
Painted vents use two part epoxy black gloss top coat which is hard wearing but is just a decorative finish, like all painted cast iron products it will require repainting from time to time, especially if situated on an exposed wall. Repainting can be frequent if the grille is positioned in the sunlight, or chipped or exposed to salt air . The gloss paint will dull over time, in exposed conditions it is likely to dull to a satin sheen fairly quickly. Regardless of the paint finish the cast iron grille will last for many decades with or without painting.
Please order as per painted black and email us that you require the grille(s) lacquered and allow additional 7 days for delivery.
